Booking and cancellations

Version 1.0 · Effective 14 September 2026 · GOEXPLORECAMPING LTD

Check which service you are using

A directory enquiry through Go Explore is an introduction, not a reservation or payment. If you book directly with a campsite, the accommodation contract and payment are with that operator. Obtain its legal identity, full price, payment timetable and cancellation terms before committing, and keep the confirmation.

Go Explore's own booking/payment system is currently an invitation-only pilot. Public paid bookings are not opened by this page. Pilot participants must use the terms and confirmation supplied for their particular transaction. Separate operator agreements and booking terms must be settled before a wider launch.

Cancelling a direct campsite booking

Contact the campsite promptly, quoting your booking reference and dates. Its cancellation schedule disclosed before booking provides the starting point. A new or more onerous cancellation rule should not be imposed after confirmation. Ask for the calculation and reasons for any money retained.

Cancellation charges must be lawful and fair. Relevant circumstances include the loss incurred, costs saved and reasonable steps to obtain a replacement booking; the same loss should not be recovered twice. A “non-refundable” label does not override statutory rights. No-show or early-departure charges remain subject to the same legal protections and the disclosed terms.

UK distance-contract rules generally exclude accommodation supplied for a specified date or period from the usual 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right. Contractual cancellation rights and remedies where the service is not supplied properly can still apply. Separate services or purchases may have different rules.

If the campsite cannot provide the stay

Ask the operator to explain your options and any refund due. You do not have to accept a voucher or alternative where you are legally entitled to a refund. Exceptional weather or disruption does not automatically settle every refund question; the service available, contract and applicable law matter. Travel insurance may cover some losses depending on the policy.

If a problem occurs during a stay, report it promptly to the operator so it can try to put matters right. Contact Go Explore if the concern relates to our listing or service. We can investigate our part and help identify the correct operator, but a directory introduction does not make us the accommodation supplier or insurer.

Go Explore payments

Any future booking confirmation must show the total price, amount due now, recipient, balance and payment dates before commitment. The planned Go Explore booking commission is included within the stay total; it must not be introduced as a hidden extra. Introductory commission-free bookings and ordinary directory enquiries are different schemes.

Go Explore does not apply a blanket rule that its part of a payment is always forfeited. Any deduction or refund must reflect the actual agreement, service, circumstances and legal rights. Where Go Explore has collected a payment, contact [email protected] with the reference for help. Do not send card numbers or security codes. See Complaints if the issue remains unresolved.
