Cookies and privacy choices

Version 1.0 · Effective 14 September 2026 · GOEXPLORECAMPING LTD

What we use

Cookies store small records in a browser. Similar rules can cover local storage, pixels and other device-access technologies. An external script or map can also send connection information without setting a cookie. Go Explore uses essential technologies for requested services and offers separate choices for certain external features.

Google Analytics is currently disabled. We do not ask for consent to analytics while it is off. The former external certificate-badge script and automatic YouTube preload are also held back or removed. Optional Google maps, YouTube and Google form verification are off until you choose them.

Technologies and providers

Technology Purpose Duration and control
WordPress login cookies Support authentication and the requested logged-in session. Names can include wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_*. Session/test cookies and time-limited login cookies; selecting Remember Me extends the standard login period. Logout ends the active login.
ge_owner_landing Signed, short-lived routing after an owner logs in. Up to two minutes in the current source; cleared on use. HttpOnly, SameSite Lax and Secure over HTTPS.
ge_privacy_choice Remembers the optional categories you selected, notice version and time. It is signed and does not contain your name or email. Up to 180 days. HttpOnly, SameSite Lax and Secure over HTTPS. Updated whenever you save a new choice.
Google Maps and Places Map display and map/location search. Google can receive connection information and searches and may store/read device information. Optional, controlled below. Google's storage and account settings determine any provider-cookie lifetime.
YouTube (Google) Plays embedded videos; the player can receive device information and use cookies. Optional, controlled below. Provider storage can persist beyond the video session according to Google's settings.
Google reCAPTCHA Helps protect certain forms from abuse and can process device information and cookies. Optional here, controlled below. Some online forms need it; email assistance is available if you keep it off.
OpenStreetMap map tiles Supplies map images for relevant directory/account features and receives ordinary connection information with tile requests. Browser caching may apply. This is separate from Google maps; it does not give us permission to track your current location.
Earlier analytics cookies An existing browser may still contain _ga or related cookies from visits before Analytics was disabled. They are no longer used by the disabled tag. Browser settings can remove existing stored data.

Read Google's privacy information, Google's cookie information, Google reCAPTCHA information and OpenStreetMap's privacy policy for those providers' processing. A provider can have its own responsibilities for information it receives.

Your choices

Essential technologies support login, security and the choices you ask us to remember. Google Analytics is currently disabled. Optional services start off.

We remember this selection in a first-party cookie for up to 180 days. Change it here at any time. Saving reloads the website so the new choice applies. Withdrawal stops future optional loads; your browser can remove cookies a provider has already stored.

How choices work

Reject optional and Accept optional have equal prominence. You may instead select individual purposes. Closing a page, scrolling or continuing to browse is not consent. Ordinary directory browsing and text search remain available when optional services are off. Some legacy online forms require Google verification; use [email protected] or 0800 001 6020 if you prefer assistance without it.

Your saved selection applies to this browser. Different browsers or devices need their own choice. You can return through Cookie settings in the footer at any time. A material new purpose or expired preference requires a new choice. Saving a change reloads the site and prevents future optional resources for categories switched off. This cannot recall information already received by a provider or necessarily delete cookies on a provider's own domain.

Browser controls can delete or block stored cookies, though blocking essential login cookies may prevent sign-in. No account or marketing subscription is created by making a privacy choice. For a question or complaint, use [email protected] or the complaints route.
