Make a short break work well

Choose one main day out and leave space for a simpler day around the campsite. If a beach is the priority, compare the route you will actually use with children, equipment or a dog. If an attraction is the reason for your trip, check its opening arrangements before choosing your camping dates.

A lake or coastal location also needs a closer look than a photograph can provide. Ask which areas guests can access, where activities take place and whether there are separate bookings or charges. Match the location to the activities you intend to do.

Before you book

Check pitch dimensions, surface and electric supply for your equipment. Ask about showers, laundry, arrivals and evening rules. If you are coming with a dog, confirm the policy for the specific pitch or accommodation and check your planned days out too.
